FAQ
How difficult is the trek?
The trek is considered moderate to challenging depending on the duration and weather conditions. You should be in reasonable physical condition and comfortable walking in humid, uneven jungle terrain.
However, the trekking experience can be adjusted based on your fitness level and preferences. Our local guides can adapt the pace, route, and duration to ensure you fully enjoy your jungle trekking experience while feeling comfortable and safe throughout the journey.
What wildlife can we see besides orangutans?
Besides orangutans, you may encounter Thomas leaf monkeys, gibbons, macaques, hornbills, monitor lizards, and a wide variety of birds and insects. On the longer treks, 4 days and longer, you can have the chance to see tiger footprints and elephants. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, as this is their natural habitat.
Where do we sleep on a multi-day trek?
On overnight jungle treks, you will sleep in simple camps set up inside Gunung Leuser National Park, surrounded by the untouched jungle. You’ll fall asleep in a basic shelter under the stars, with the sounds of the jungle all around you. A rare and unforgettable experience that very few people ever get to have.
Is it safe?
