This half-day trek is perfect for travelers with limited time who still want a real taste of the Sumatran rainforest. This short but immersive experience takes you into the edges of Gunung Leuser National Park, where you can explore lush jungle trails and learn about the unique ecosystem.
Our local certified guides will take you along quieter paths away from the main tourist routes, giving you a more authentic and peaceful jungle experience. Along the way, you still have the chance to spot wildlife such as monkeys, birds, and if you’re lucky, even orangutans.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Your adventure begins when your local certified guide pick you up from your accommodation in Bukit Lawang. After a short briefing, you will head straight into the edge of Gunung Leuser National Park, where you immediately step into the sounds and atmosphere of the rainforest.
As you explore the jungle, your guides will take you along quiet trails away from the main tourist paths, giving you a more authentic experience and a higher chance of spotting wildlife such as monkeys, birds, and other rainforest animals. Along the way, you can ask your guide questions and learn more about the jungle, its ecosystem, and local wildlife.
At the end of the trek, you have two options to return to the village: either enjoy a refreshing swim in the Bohorok River followed by a traditional tubing ride back to Bukit Lawang, or take a peaceful walk back with your guides through the forest edge. In both cases, your guides will accompany you safely back to your accommodation, or your car back to Medan.
